‘It is IMPOSSIBLE for a book to be more delightful than this…Diana Rigg lives on in her daughter’s blazing love-letter cum cocktail party. A game changing glitter-cannon of a book.’ Caitlan Moran
Come and hear about the compulsorily readable life of a theatrical and screen legend. An icon at 27 and voted the sexiest woman of all time forty years later, Diana Rigg was Emma Peel, 007’s wife, Medea, Mrs Danvers, ‘Game of Throne’s’ Queen of Thorns and so much more. The cast list of her life includes everyone from Laurence Olivia, Ted Hughes, Judi Dench, Freddie Mercury and Kermit the Frog.
No-one could have written such an insightful, witty, naughty biography then her own daughter, Rachael Stirling, herself and acclaimed actress, most recently in Jilly Cooper’s ‘Rivals’. Nominated twice for an Olivier Award, she won Best Broadway Newcomer for ‘Giant’ this year. However, it is her mother who will take centre stage in what promises to be an event which takes no prisoners – very much like Diana Rigg.
Rachael will take questions from the audience, and sign copies of ‘All About My Mother’ at the end of the event.
(Please note we will be holding a ‘Silent Reading session’ in the Stage Left Area of the Theatre between 13:15 and 14:15 in which guests are encouraged to read in silence en-masse, before the Lady Glenconner event at 14:30).
