THINGS ARE GETTING EXCITING

So, it’s now the start of May, and the line-up is complete.
We have had incredible support and people volunteering their help but now comes the nervous part. Will people turn up? In a world, especially since the Great Plague of 2020, booking so last-minute, it’s concerning, but all we can do it have faith that there is a still an appetite for books and to hear from unique and some brilliant people.

At the time of writing every event has at least a couple of people coming to it, so we won’t at least be speaking to nobody, and I accept we are still three and a half months away from the festival. But it reminds me of my student house parties, when you invite everyone at 7:30, then no-one turns up, and you question yourself: did I tell everyone the wrong date? But then eventually you are invaded with revellers at the last minute, once the pubs have shut.

If you are reading this and want to help, the best way (for free) is to share posts on social media. Or why not create a post yourself. We are ‘Torbay Literary Festival’ on Facebook and ‘torbaylitfest’ on Instagram. Or if you are more 20th century (like me); e-mail us at info@torbayliteraryfestival.co.uk and we can send you posters to put up?

Anything you can do, will help me stop worrying
